              What do our students have to say?


              Yoga, to me, is a way to let your body feel better. It relieves stress and makes you feel stronger on the inside and out.

My waterfall was clear and shiny with a koi fish in it on a sunny day. I feel really light like I have no troubles. I feel less stressed than before. I was stressed about the science project when I came into yoga, but now I feel like it will be super easy.

              Right now it’s 4:00 and everybody has calmed down. I feel less annoyed. Everyone around me is calmed and relaxed. I felt like I was flying with birds during rest. I was so relaxed and really light-weight. I felt so homework-free.

              I feel really peaceful and proud inside. Sort of like a balloon with gold light inside, empty of worries. I’m relaxed, peaceful, and un-tensed. Yoga is like meditation. It is taking care of yourself. It is like a wave of peace washing over you.

              I feel so much better after yoga. It really helps me calm down. Also I go from shy to calm. At my waterfall I felt really calm (during rest). My waterfall was in the snow. Every time the water falls it lands in the snow. It was night time and it was so beautiful.

              Now we’re all feeling more relaxed than when we came in. Because when we came in we were energetic and now we’re calm. During my rest I imagined a lake and the bottom was filled with flowers. I feel light as a leaf after all my breaths.

              Yoga stretches your muscles and it’s calming. The biggest challenge at KIPP is the long hours because we stay until 5:00 and that’s long compared to other schools. Yoga helps with that.

              I feel lucky because we have yoga and I am enjoying it and I love it. Because we just did yoga I feel great like everything is gone and I don’t have any stress. When I pictured the mountain in rest pose, there was a pomegranate tree on it and a beach next to it!

              Yoga is something you can do when you feel stressed out or tired. It helps me a lot! If you want to do slow yoga, you should take yin yoga. I used to think yoga was boring but with Ms. Priore’s help I enjoy I now an it makes me feel great!

              *Basically, the backbends helped me find myself again!

              This yoga class was amazing! I loved it! I really missed yoga. I felt so centered like I really connected with my body and myself. I feel so calm and collected like a light cycled through my body and demolished anything negative. It was amazing.
