Headstand Yoga Alliance
Local studios around the Bay Area are joining forces to support at-risk students in K-12 schools. When you join the Headstand Alliance, your studio commits to creating healthier school environments for kids in your own backyard by offering Headstand donation classes. These classes directly provide more students with more yoga during the school day. Moreover, providing a philanthropic, donation-based class for your yoga students promotes a spirit of service amongst your yoga community. It’s just good karma.
Who's Involved in the Alliance?
Headstand will work with you to design a class in your schedule that fits the needs of your studio and community. In 2011, the commitment is flexible. Most studios offer at least two donation-based classes per month, with a minimum $15.00 donation per student.
Union Yoga owner, Martin Scott, launched the Headstand Yoga Alliance in San Francisco. At Union Yoga, the proceeds from every Saturday morning 9am class go directly to Headstand. We’re asking select local studios and teachers to follow Martin’s lead in providing more yoga to more kids. Stephanie Snyder is another leading Headstand Alliance teacher, throwing large scale workshops and yoga events on behalf of Headstand.Yoga Works has recently joined the Alliance, which we are thrilled about.

How to Become Involved
Yoga Studios
Get your studio involved and become designated as part of the Headstand Yoga Alliance. Work with our team to design a donation-based class on your schedule that’s right for you. When your studio participates in the Alliance, funds go directly to classes for economically-disadvantaged kids.
Yoga Teachers
Donate your time as a Headstand Yoga Alliance Teacher. Interested in hosting donation-based classes? Would you like to throw a workshop to support us in bringing yoga to economically-disadvantaged kids? We want to meet you!
