Katherine Priore, Executive Director and Founder
Katherine is the founder and executive director of Headstand. Directing the yoga-in-schools movement, she oversees school programming, fundraising, strategic partnerships, and organizational sustainability. Katherine leads workshops training teachers around the country, and strategizes with school leaders to develop cultural shifts for greater wellness in K-12 settings. She began her studies in yoga nine years ago as a way to relieve stress as a public school teacher. Since then, Katherine has cultivated a profound appreciation for the calming, therapeutic, and grounding aspects of yoga. She is an educator and yoga teacher, with more than a decade’s experience leading a wide range of K-12 learners. Katherine holds a Master’s degree in Education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
David G. Sawaya
Dave is a partner in the San Francisco office of Ernst & Young. He has served the San Francisco Bay Area business community for over 30 years advising large and emerging growth domestic and multi-national clients in areas related to advisory and assurance matters. Dave spends a significant amount of his time advising companies undergoing business transformation. For example, his clients have executed acquisitions and mergers, completed public offerings, expanded globally, restructured their capital, and downsized their operations. Dave is a member of the AICPA, the California Society of CPA’s, and several trade organizations. He graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1975 with honors
Annie Weinberger
With over 10 years of experience in marketing, Annie currently holds the position of Vice President of Marketing at Autonomy, Europe’s largest software company duel headquartered in Cambridge, UK and San Francisco, CA. Her expertise includes development and execution of marketing strategies, branding, and customer advocacy, as well as web, social and rich media technologies. Her passion for improving the well-being of at-risk youths has led her to work with many community and youth-oriented non-profit organizations. Including Youth-to-Youth in Sun Valley, ID and Taproot and Youth Speaks in San Francisco, CA. Annie studied literature at the University of East Anglia in England and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
Jamie Hanna
Jamie Hanna is the Founder and CEO of Zobha, a leader in the luxury active apparel market. Launched in 2008, Zobha currently offers its trend-setting products in 350+ stores worldwide and on zobha.com. Guided by her passionate commitment to education, wellness and yoga, Jamie successfully leverages the Zobha brand to build community and a platform to give back through the Zobha Foundation. Jamie holds a BA from Emerson College and a MBA from Harvard University. She currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and their two children.
Martin Scott
Martin Scott is a San Francisco-based yoga teacher who believes in the transformative powers of yoga – not just Asana practice but yoga as a lifestyle. Martin honors the traditions of yoga learned from his teachers, Sri Dharma Mittra based in New York City and Stephanie Snyder in San Francisco. Martin teaches a Vinyasa-based yoga practice that focuses on health and wellness for the body and the mind. His attentive teaching style is accessible to students of all levels. His classes build strength and flexibility and Martin encourages students to always maintain a sense of humor and lightheartedness while inspiring them to further their practice through dedication. He recently opened a studio in San Francisco, Union Yoga (www.unionyogasf.com) and donates 100% of the proceeds from his Saturday morning classes to Headstand.
Katy Mooney
Katy is an entrepreneur, branding consultant and executive coach. Even more, she is an activator of potential. Working with executives, leaders and teams, Katy helps her clients unlock untapped potential, overcome internal barriers, and see new possibilities to activate their best. Today, her clients include Procter & Gamble, Gap Inc., Peet’s Coffee & Tea and more. Earlier in her 19-year career, Katy was a marketing leader for Banana Republic, a brand director for Landor Associates and a tired, unhappy lawyer at a fancy law firm. In 1998, Katy discovered yoga and noticed that as her body became stronger, her heart softened and mind expanded. Her painful running injuries also subsided. She was hooked and now incorporates yogic principles into her holistic, pragmatic business approach. In addition to Headstand, Katy is actively involved as a volunteer and mentor for College Track, a non-profit geared towards helping kids get to college in under-resourced communities. Katy is originally from Ohio and was born ninth in a family of ten children.
